The setup looked less bleak in July 2026, when BGB briefly started climbing. But the recovery has since run into a much uglier backdrop. The $357 million Bitget hack has changed the conversation around the token, with trust now becoming a major concern for traders and investors.

Bitget Hack Adds Another Layer Of Selling Pressure
The recovery picture has also been clouded by questions surrounding the stolen funds. Updates indicate that fund recovery doesn’t appear to be in a healthy state, while the Bitget hacker is reportedly swapping stolen ETH into BTC from the $387.5 million exploit.
Lookonchain flagged the movement, suggesting the attacker is rotating stolen ETH into a harder-to-freeze asset before potential further laundering attempts.
Meanwhile, Bitget has resumed withdrawals in phases and says users will be fully covered whether the stolen funds are recovered or not.
Can BGB Fall Below The $1 Support?
That’s where the technical and sentiment picture starts getting uncomfortable. If BGB token price fails to reclaim the $2.0-$2.20 resistance belt, selling pressure could intensify.
A break below the $1.0 support would put the token in a much weaker position. The falling wedge remains the broader technical structure, but the hack has introduced a fundamental confidence problem that charts can’t simply erase.
