XRP is trading at $1.49, up 8% over 24 hours and nearly 7% over the past week, as the broader crypto market added billions in trading volume today alone. The total market cap has climbed to $2.99 trillion, up 6.2%.

Bitcoin broke above $84,000 for the first time in eight months, with more than $260 million in short positions liquidated within just 60 minutes of the move. Ethereum has also surged past $2,700, its highest level in nearly eight months. Roughly $800 billion has flowed back into the crypto market since June’s lows.
A Real Technical Breakout for XRP
Beyond the broader market rally, XRP has technical reasons of its own for moving higher. XRP has broken above a key resistance zone between $1.42 and $1.43, levels tied to the previous quarter’s and previous week’s high-value trading areas. That breakout opens the door to testing $1.449 next, with $1.51 as a further target if momentum continues.
Order flow data adds to the bullish case. While funding rates remain positive, meaning the rally isn’t purely driven by short covering, cumulative volume delta has been making lower lows even as price makes higher highs, a pattern that typically signals steady buying absorbing sell pressure rather than a shaky, over-leveraged move.
Ripple Adds Fresh Fundamental News
Adding to the momentum, Ripple announced that asset managers are preparing for the XRP Ledger’s next major upgrade, an update called “Batch,” version 1.1. The feature allows linked asset and payment transfers to succeed or fail together as a single unit, a capability particularly useful for delivery-versus-payment transactions where the asset and the payment need to settle simultaneously.
RippleX Head of Engineering Ayo Akinyele said commercial projects are already being built around the feature following an extensive security review, with more details expected once it officially goes live, including specific work with major asset managers.
Why This Matters Beyond XRP
The Batch upgrade is being framed as part of a broader shift toward atomic, 24/7 settlement across traditional finance, the same trend driving stock exchanges, banks and asset managers toward round-the-clock markets. That shift wouldn’t be technically possible without blockchain infrastructure, since crypto was the first globally verifiable asset class to run real-time settlement continuously.
Macro Backdrop Adds Complexity
The Bank of Japan raised interest rates to 1.25%, the highest in 31 years, with markets already pricing in further tightening as Japan’s economy continues expanding, manufacturing PMI came in at 54.9.
SoftBank is reportedly seeking more than $11 billion in junk bonds, partly to fund additional investment in OpenAI, while Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, adding a layer of geopolitical uncertainty investors are still weighing against the rally.
