Ripple launched its new platform for institutions, Ripple Mint. According to the company’s statement, the system allows printing, refunding, management and integration into corporate systems for Ripple USD, i.e. RLUSD, through both the web interface and API.
New infrastructure for corporate use
Ripple Mint aims to respond to the increasing corporate demand as the use of digital dollars becomes widespread in payment, treasury management and blockchain-based reconciliation. Open to existing RLUSD customers, the platform allows institutions to automate stablecoin transactions by replacing manual processes with a programmable infrastructure.
Ripple announced that institutions’ demand for automation, real-time visibility and seamless system integration is increasing, and Ripple Mint was developed to respond to these needs.
The company notes that previously RLUSD transactions mainly ran through a platform-based interface, but large-scale organizations need workflows that reduce manual intervention and connect directly with internal systems. Ripple is known as a US-based technology company that develops blockchain-based payment and corporate finance solutions.
Functions and regulatory framework
RLUSD can be minted and repaid via Ripple Mint, assets can be moved between supported networks, the reconciliation process can be monitored at every stage, and account data can be accessed automatically. The platform also offers webhook notifications for fiat settlement, token issuance, blockchain transfer and payment steps.
Mini dictionary: Webhook is an integration method that automatically sends notifications to another system when a certain event occurs in one system. API is the technical interface that allows different software to share data with each other and perform transactions.
Ripple announced that RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, licensed by the New York State Department of Financial Services. According to the company, this structure supports the compliance and transparency requirements required by banks, fintech companies, stock exchanges and other institutions.
Ripple emphasizes that RLUSD is positioned for institutional-scale financial operations as a regulated stablecoin.
Plan to expand into new networks
RLUSD was initially available on XRPL and Ethereum. Ripple now aims to move this asset to the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink and Unichain networks. This expansion could enable RLUSD to find greater use in exchanges, decentralized finance applications, payment platforms, and tokenized financial services infrastructure.
| Title | Detail |
|---|---|
| Available networks | XRPL, Ethereum |
| Planned networks | XRPL EVM Sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink, Unichain |
| Target areas of use | Exchanges, DeFi, payment platforms, tokenized finance |
Increasing regulatory clarity and strengthening institutional interest in the stablecoin market have accelerated competition. Ripple highlights that RLUSD, unlike some other stablecoins, is issued under a regulatory framework and can operate on multiple networks.
The company plans to evolve Ripple Mint into a more comprehensive platform for institutional stablecoin transactions and liquidity management over time. New developments in API capabilities, automation tools and blockchain connections may come to the fore in the coming period.
