MoonPay launched Telegram support for its AI-powered crypto assistant MoonAgents on Thursday. With this step, users will be able to perform market analysis, create dashboards and prepare transactions by giving commands in natural language via the messaging application.
Scope of Telegram integration
Kevin Arifin, who serves as MoonPay Agents leader on the product side of the company, said that the integration complements the MoonAgents desktop application. Arifin stated that the aim is for users to be able to access the assistant when they are not in front of the computer.
Kevin Arifin emphasizes that the desktop application works connected to the computer, but users may want to prepare transactions or analyze while they are away, and Telegram integration offers a gateway for this access.
Arifin also noted that the preference for Telegram is not limited to widespread use in the crypto community. According to him, the platform offers a powerful interface for setting up a new bot. He stated that additional setup requirements on services like WhatsApp or iMessage create more friction.
Mini dictionary: LLM stands for large language model. These structures, which are used to generate text, understand commands, and execute multi-step tasks, have recently formed the basis for artificial intelligence agents that can initiate operations on the computer.
Data storage and user control
MoonPay explained that Telegram only acts as an interface in this structure, and user data and private keys are kept on the computer. The company stated that the aim is to reduce dependence on the messaging platform. MoonPay is known as a global financial technology company operating in the field of crypto payments and digital asset infrastructure.
Arifin states that all recordings are stored on the computer, and even if Telegram access is interrupted, users can continue the same conversations via the MoonAgents desktop application.
Arifin said that artificial intelligence tool projects such as OpenClaw and Hermes Agent are also effective on MoonAgents. He stated that these projects show that artificial intelligence assistants can be moved beyond classical chat windows.
Similar steps are increasing in the sector
This development comes at a time when crypto companies are developing infrastructure for AI agents to interact with digital assets and online services. In April, Gemini introduced its Agentic Trading system, which allows users to connect some artificial intelligence models, including ChatGPT and Claude, to exchange instruments.
In June, Coinbase announced Coinbase for Agents, a tool that allows AI agents to trade crypto, pay, and manage portfolios within user-defined limits. That same month, Nous Research also released a desktop version of the open-source Hermes Agent, porting the tool from the command line to a standalone application.
