ZetaChain has raised $27 million in a funding round to support its platform that enables interoperability between different blockchain networks, including those not running on smart contract technology such as Bitcoin and Dogecoin. The funding will help the company to build omnichain decentralized applications (DApps) that can access and use assets and data from different blockchains from a single platform without the need for bridging or wrapping tokens. The company has reportedly seen over 27,000 dApp contracts deployed on its platform, including cross-chain DeFi, nonfungible tokens, Web3 identity, and gaming protocols.
