MakerDAO, a popular decentralized finance (DeFi) platform, has updated its terms of service, warning against making use of virtual private networks (VPNs) to circumvent the platform’s measures to block United States users. Regulators have flagged Maker’s efforts to restrict access to its services in the US, prompting the implementation of new measures in response. The decision will adversely affect US users who have been actively using the platform for crypto lending and borrowing. Experts believe that the move will lead to an exodus of users from MakerDAO, who may look for alternatives on other DeFi platforms.
