Checkout.com, a credit card processing company based in London, terminated its contract with cryptocurrency exchange Binance on August 17 due to concerns over anti-money laundering and regulatory compliance. Over the past few months, Checkout.com has processed $300 million to $400 million worth of Binance transactions. Binance has expressed disagreement with Checkout.com’s reasoning for ending the contract and is now considering legal action as a result. This move by Checkout.com is the latest push for increased regulatory compliance among cryptocurrency exchanges.
