Blockchain.com has been granted a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), allowing the London-based crypto platform to offer regulated digital payment token services to its institutional and accredited investor customers. Singapore serves as Blockchain.com’s Southeast Asia HQ, and the region is an important and profitable trading hub for the firm. MAS has also granted Ripple an In-Principle Approval (IPA) for an MPI, greenlit Crypto.com’s application for an MPI, and committed S$150 million to support the growth of fintech solutions, including Web3, over the next three years.
