On June 12, Tether, a popular stablecoin issuer, released a new batch of its Tether Stablecoin on the Ethereum blockchain with a value of $1 billion. This minting of $1 billion occurred just two months after the previous minting on April 21. According to a tweet from Paolo Ardoino, the CTO of Tether, this recent minting of $1 billion USDT is considered an “inventory replenish” on the Ethereum network. It’s important to note that these are authorized transactions but have not been issued, meaning they won’t directly impact the overall USDT market capitalization.
