The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been granted permission by a US judge to cooperate with the South Korean government in investigating the alleged illegal scheme involving Terraform Labs co-founder Daniel Shin and payments firm Chai Corp. The SEC is gathering evidence to support its case against Terraform Labs and its former CEO Do Kwon over their purported scheme, which is said to have wiped out over $40 billion in crypto value. While Terraform Labs denies any wrongdoing, Kwon is facing criminal charges in both the US and South Korea and is currently serving a four-month sentence in Montenegro for traveling with a forged passport.
