Crypto investors searching for the market bottom may need more patience. According to one analyst, Bitcoin could have a few more months of downside before a true market bottom forms.
The analyst warned that many altcoins won’t survive the current bear market. Rather than chasing speculative tokens, he’s focusing on assets with strong ecosystems, institutional interest, and long-term growth potential.
Sui Could Be This Cycle’s Solana
His first pick is SUI. Recent network outages have sparked criticism and fueled bearish sentiment. However, the analyst sees similarities to Solana’s situation during the 2022 bear market, when repeated outages and the FTX collapse pushed SOL down more than 95%.
Despite that, Solana eventually recovered and went on to hit new highs. The analyst says Sui could follow a similar path as the network continues to develop and expand its user base.
Bitcoin and Ethereum Remain the Foundation
While many investors are hunting for the next big altcoin, the analyst still views Bitcoin as one of the safest bets in the market.
Even if prices move lower in the short term, Bitcoin remains the asset that institutions continue to accumulate. For investors looking to weather volatility, it serves as a core portfolio holding.
Ethereum also makes the list thanks to its dominance in DeFi, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets. With major upgrades still underway and more financial activity moving on-chain, Ethereum remains one of the strongest long-term plays in crypto.
Solana and XRP Lead the Institutional Trend
Solana continues to attract attention thanks to growing ETF demand and upcoming network improvements such as the Alpenglow upgrade.
But the analyst’s top pick for June is XRP. He points to strong spot ETF inflows, rising institutional adoption, and growing momentum around crypto legislation such as the CLARITY Act. Recent tokenization initiatives on the XRP Ledger have also helped strengthen the long-term case.
The analyst isn’t calling a market bottom yet. However, he says investors willing to accumulate during periods of fear may find the best opportunities in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Sui as the next cycle takes shape.
