Ripple Prime has launched a strategic partnership with EDX Markets and EDXM International to more tightly integrate digital asset markets for institutional investors with traditional financial systems. This initiative aims to provide solutions to problems such as liquidity fragmentation and split transactions between various platforms, especially faced by large investment companies. With the agreement, institutions will be able to carry out their transactions in a more efficient and integrated structure by providing single-point access to both spot and continuous futures crypto markets.
Deepening corporate liquidity and new generation brokerage infrastructure
EDX Markets has the support of giant financial institutions such as Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Citadel Securities and Goldman Sachs. These institutions collectively manage over $11.5 trillion in assets and over 77 million investor accounts. The emerging new platform highlights the corporate level of transparency, governance and transaction quality; thus providing investment professionals access to a safe and effective bridge.
Michael Higgins, international CEO of Ripple Prime, stated that the collaboration is an important step in the evolution of the crypto brokerage infrastructure. “Working with platforms like EDX, which combine traditional finance and digital asset markets through a safe and liquid bridge, delivers the performance and depth our customers expect,” said Higgins.
Thanks to this new infrastructure, where traditional and digital markets can be managed in an integrated manner, institutions will no longer have to open separate positions and allocate collateral on different platforms. Gathering liquidity under one roof makes both capital use and risk monitoring more effective.
New structure; By offering centralized credit intermediaries, a net clearing system and integrated collateral management, it allows institutional investors to access deepening liquidity in a central way. Especially hedge funds, market makers and large portfolio managers will benefit from the advantage of managing their positions under one roof.
Clearing and margin solution with RLUSD stablecoin
Another dimension of the partnership is the plan to integrate Ripple’s US dollar-indexed stablecoin RLUSD among the clearing and collateral assets of the EDX ecosystem. If implemented, institutions will be able to use RLUSD in depositing and withdrawing collateral in both spot and forward crypto transactions. This will reduce dependence on traditional banking infrastructure and increase cross-collateral efficiency, especially in large volume transactions.
Mini dictionary: RLUSD is a stablecoin developed by Ripple that is pegged one-to-one to the US dollar. It is intended to be used as collateral or clearing tool in corporate level transactions. Stablecoins such as RLUSD offer the advantage of minimizing price volatility and speeding transactions in digital asset markets.
Tony Acuña-Rohter, CEO of EDX Markets, emphasized that institutions today need market infrastructures that combine traditional finance standards with the efficiency of digital assets. He stated that thanks to this partnership, access to deep and transparent liquidity in both spot and perpetual futures crypto markets will be provided under a highly capital efficient structure.
Convergence in the world of crypto and traditional finance
This strategic collaboration not only offers institutional investors easier transaction access; It is also accelerating further structural convergence of crypto assets and traditional capital markets. As liquidity deepens and exchange assets like RLUSD find more space in institutional processes, the boundaries between digital finance and traditional finance are becoming increasingly blurred.
| Feature | Ripple Prime & EDX Markets | Classic Spot Crypto Exchanges |
|---|---|---|
| Liquidity access | Enterprise-level, unified access across multiple markets | Generally trading liquidity only on its own platform |
| Clearing-Collateral Management | Integrated, cross-asset management and netting support | Management with separate guarantee for each exchange |
| Stablecoin Integration | Exchange and margin opportunity with regulated digital assets such as RLUSD | Limited stablecoin integration, usually with USDT/USDC |
As a result, Ripple Prime’s move, which focuses on institutional liquidity sharing, is considered a pioneering example in the institutionalization of crypto markets and the acceleration of the integration between traditional finance and digital assets.
