Ark Invest, an investment company known for its analysis of the cryptocurrency industry, predicted in its new report that Bitcoin could experience unprecedented growth in the next four years. The company, managed by Cathie Wood, stated in its annual research called “Big Ideas” that the market value of Bitcoin will reach 16 trillion dollars by 2030.
Momentum effect on corporate investment
Ark Invest’s report emphasizes that Bitcoin, which currently has a market value of approximately 1.5 trillion dollars, will grow more than ten times. The company stated that the basis of this increase lies in accelerated institutional investment and the acceptance of crypto as an asset class among global portfolios. According to calculations, this growth indicates a compound return of approximately 63 percent every year.
The report drew attention to the impact of purchases made by Bitcoin-focused exchange traded funds (ETFs) and public companies, especially in the USA. By the end of the year, ETFs and public companies held 12 percent of the total Bitcoin supply. This rate was about 9 percent a year ago.
“Bitcoin is maturing as the leader of a new institutional asset class, accelerating with broader adoption including ETFs, corporate treasuries, and various countries,” the report said.
Digital gold approach and its role as a store of value
The basis of the predictions about the value of Bitcoin is that it is increasingly seen as “digital gold” and is positioned as a macroeconomic hedging tool in the long term. It is stated that traditional investors have started to prefer Bitcoin more for risk protection and reserve asset diversification purposes.
Ark Invest points out that if only a 2.5 percent share is allocated to Bitcoin in global institutional portfolios, the total valuation could see an additional contribution of $ 5 trillion. Additionally, it is claimed that if Bitcoin captures 40 percent of the total market value of gold, an extra growth potential of almost 10 trillion dollars could occur through the “digital gold” phenomenon.
Even at lower rates, it is possible for hundreds of billions of dollars of additional capital to enter the system as Bitcoin is adopted as a reserve asset and included in central reserve portfolios. In particular, allocating 0.5 percent of the global monetary base to Bitcoin means an extra value increase of $339 billion.
Price predictions and market expectations
It was stated that with the increasing popularity of Bitcoin, the current 2.7 trillion dollar global digital asset market will reach 28 trillion dollars by 2030. According to Ark Invest’s projections, Bitcoin could rise above $730,000 per unit in 2030 even if its total supply is capped.
In a different prediction published at the beginning of the year, Cathie Wood and Ark Invest suggested a price range between 300 thousand and 1.5 million dollars in Bitcoin for 2030. The company reiterates that Bitcoin stands out as an important protection tool against both inflation and deflation with accelerating technology developments.
All these predictions indicate that the role of institutional investors in the cryptocurrency market and the approach to Bitcoin in the traditional financial world will change critically in the coming years.
