Bringing sports and fan interaction together with blockchain, Chiliz announced a new road map for the Fan Token ecosystem before the 2026 World Cup. In the project’s 2030 manifesto, the World Cup year to be held in the United States stands out as a special turning point. Chiliz aims to complete its current experimental process and move to full-scale implementation this year.
Market Re-Entry and Fan Token Expansion
Chiliz is preparing to re-enter the US market, where it has been limited in recent years due to regulatory uncertainties. It aims to announce the first Fan Token partnerships in the US in the first quarter of 2026. Additionally, new Fan Tokens specific to various national teams are planned to be launched in the summer of the same year. Unlike club-based tokens, these new products are designed with a focus on major tournaments and international competitions.
It is reported that Fan Tokens were initially designed as assets focused only on fan interaction, but will transform into a broader digital sports asset class with global reach as of 2026.
With the World Cup approaching, Chiliz aims to reach beyond traditional club fans and reach a new fanbase focused on major events.
Omnichain Model and DeFi Integration
Another notable innovation in 2026 will be the transfer of Fan Tokens to the omnichain model. In the first quarter of the year, Fan Tokens will be able to be moved to different blockchains using the inter-network bridge infrastructure. In this way, Fan Tokens will now be able to work compatible with other blockchains without depending only on the Chiliz infrastructure.
In the statements made, it is noted that this transition will make it easier to both increase liquidity and enable the use of Fan Tokens on other blockchains.
It is stated that this change will expand the use of Fan Tokens in decentralized finance applications and will also facilitate transactions and value transfer between blockchains.
Tokenomics and Product Updates
In the second quarter of 2026, Chiliz will launch a new valuation mechanism for its native digital asset CHZ. CHZ buybacks will be made regularly with 10 percent of all Fan Token revenues within the ecosystem. Thus, it is stated that the CHZ demand will be directly linked to the fans’ activities on the platform.
Comprehensive upgrades to Fan Token products are expected in the middle of the year. A new version of fan interaction platform Socios.com will also be released with support for decentralized financial wallets.
New performance-based token models will be implemented later in 2026. Fan Token supply will change dynamically according to match results; When teams win, token burns will come into play, and in case of losses, new supplies will come into play.
In 2027 and beyond, Chiliz will focus on the digitalization of real-world assets. The company aims to tokenize assets such as revenue streams and intellectual property rights in sports.
In the road map, it seems that infrastructure development and income-based growth come to the fore rather than short-term price movements.
