While cryptocurrency markets are searching for direction with sharp fluctuations in Bitcoin, Sei network, which aims to combine the strong network effect of Ethereum and the high speed advantage of Solana, has re-entered the radar of investors thanks to its technical transformation and steady growth in on-chain data. Especially the structural changes experienced in the ecosystem recently point to a critical breaking point for the SEI price.
Transformation Period in the Sei Ecosystem
The Sei network is currently going through a high-impact transition. The most striking step in this process is the goal of transforming the network into a fully EVM-compatible Layer-1 chain. With this change in direction, called SIP-3 or “Giga”, staking transactions will first be done through EVM, and then IBC transfers will be gradually disabled. This means a liquidity and transition period, especially for users holding Cosmos-based assets.
The closure of IBC forces Cosmos-native assets like USDC.n to be migrated to the native USDC version of the network. Although this creates uncertainty in the short term, it supports the goal of creating a simpler, faster and developer-friendly structure in the long term. Sei is now positioned as a performance-first EVM L1 rather than a dual-identity (Cosmos + EVM) network. It is aimed to create a “plug-and-play” ecosystem, especially for EVM developers, with a strong RPC infrastructure, developer tools and wallet integrations.
On-chain data shows that this transformation is not perceived as entirely negative. While the total locked value (TVL) in the Sei ecosystem is approximately 128 million dollars, it is noteworthy that net inflows have been positive in the last 24 hours. The weekly increase in DEX volumes also indicates that user activity remains vibrant.
SEI Price and $1 Scenario for 2026
SEI attracted great attention when it was first released to the market, rising above $1.14. However, it then entered a long-term retreat process, creating falling peaks and bottoms due to the bear market. Weekly charts show that the price has been stuck for months and faces strong long-term support in the $0.10–0.12 band.

Technical indicators still suggest caution. Although the RSI is at low levels, signaling weak momentum, there are signs of a decrease in selling pressure. Even though the MACD is in the negative zone, loss of momentum may pave the way for a possible reaction rise. However, according to analysts, in order to reach the $1 target, the $0.35–0.40 resistance zone must be permanently overcome in the first stage.
At this point, another development that may affect SEI is general market dynamics. For example, the increased Layer-2 activity in the Ethereum ecosystem in recent weeks and performance updates on the Solana side increase the interest in high-speed networks. This trend stands out as an external factor supporting Sei’s “speed and efficiency” narrative.
