Details of the Phishing AttackMarket Performance of PENGU TokenSafety Warnings and Precautions

A new phishing scam targeting Pudgy Penguins NFT holders has raised concerns about crypto security. Scammers use misleading Google ads to redirect users to fake websites and steal crypto wallet information. This attack occurred as the popularity of the PENGU token increased.

Details of the Phishing Attack

Phishing scams occur through malicious Google ads hosted through the Adloox tracking domain. These ads run malicious JavaScript code to detect Web3 wallets. Once the wallet is detected, users are redirected to the fake Pudgy Penguins website “pudqypenguin.com” and wallet information and private keys are stolen.

The attack is said to be particularly misleading thanks to its visibility on trustworthy websites. Scammers use the Prebid.js header auction library and Adloox analysis module to deliver malicious ads to users. The fake websites are very similar to the official Pudgy Penguins platform, making it difficult for users to spot the scam.

Market Performance of PENGU Token

Launched on December 17, the PENGU token stands out in the Solana meme coin space. The recent PENGU airdrop and major listings increased the price of the token, pushing its market value to $2.17 billion. However, it is trading at $0.03472, experiencing a 3% decline in the last 24 hours.

“NFTs aren’t dead, they’re just calming down with Pudgy Penguins.”

– Mario Nawfal, Roundtable Space

According to Mario Nawfal’s post on the X platform, Ethereum $3,349.0‘s transaction volume increased by 67%, reaching 186 million dollars, thanks to the PENGU token. Pudgy Penguins NFTs are Bitcoin $94,486.3 He made $108 million in revenue by surpassing his NFTs. This increase shows that the project is increasing its success and value in the NFT field.

Safety Warnings and Precautions

Security experts warn about increasing threats in the Web3 space. Users are advised to verify URLs, use ad blockers, and use separate browsers for crypto transactions. Incidents such as the hacking of Animoca Brands founder Yat Siu’s account and the introduction of fake tokens emphasize that users should be careful.

To ensure the security of crypto assets, it is of great importance that users are aware and take the necessary security measures. Scams, especially against popular projects, require users to be careful.
