Cybersecurity company McAfee warns American celebrities of scammers. Scammers use celebrities in the fake videos they produce. The development of artificial intelligence technology gives cybercriminals the opportunity to deceive consumers by using celebrity images.

Artificial Intelligence and DeepfakeThe Most Dangerous Celebrities

Artificial Intelligence and Deepfake

McAfee states that artificial intelligence has transformed many industries, but also provides cybercriminals with a powerful new tool: deepfake technology. Deepfake videos imitate a person’s image and voice, making it difficult to tell the difference between real and fake.

“The development of artificial intelligence has changed many industries, but it has also provided cybercriminals with a powerful tool: deepfakes. “Videos or audio recordings created with these technologies impersonate a person, making it almost impossible to tell whether they are real or fake” -McAfee.

The Most Dangerous Celebrities

Actress Scarlett Johansson, reality star Kylie Jenner and singer Taylor Swift are among the most targeted names on McAfee’s Celerity Hacker Hotlist. In addition, names such as Anya Taylor-Joy, Tom Hanks, Sabrina Carpenter, Sydney Sweeney, Blake Lively, Johnny Depp and Addison Rae are also frequently used in scams.

Cybercriminals use the popularity and reputation of celebrities to encourage people to click on malicious links. These links often direct users to download malicious software and provide access to personal data such as bank account information.

Regarding crypto, Binance Founder CZ recently made a similar warning. Various videos featuring CZ are in circulation. You need to be cautious when you see videos that suggest anything to you, no matter who they are. These are generally stories starring celebrities that make you feel like you have caught an opportunity when you watch them.

As a result, it is emphasized that the use of famous names can lead to serious financial and reputational losses for both consumers and celebrities. To protect against such scams, users are advised to be careful and stay away from suspicious links.
